Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

I send you greetings of peace and love from the rest of the family. They, like I, are always with you and never leave or forsake you. The angels and the rest of us want you to know how precious you are to us.

When I agreed to give up my divinity and be born in the flesh, I did so very willingly. I looked forward to the time when we, you and us, could all be together and share in everything that is. I looked forward to loving you, hugging you, comforting you and encouraging you so that, when your life gets tough, you will feel secure and supported enough to face whatever you have to face. I looked forward to being the one you could rely upon unconditionally for that strength, comfort and encouragement whenever and however you need it.

Not only that, I looked forward to sharing with you that we created you to love you, and that we so hoped and desired that you would love us back. We want you in our life, and we love it when you want us in yours. It was so exciting when I could turn to my disciples and expand our relationship to include friendship and true fellowship. I offer that friendship and fellowship to you today as well, and I look forward to your inviting me into your life in that way.

You can see there are many reasons why I came in the flesh so many years ago. There’s more! I also wanted to set you free from thoughts and behaviors that hurt you emotionally and spiritually. If you were hurt by people or experienced hard times in your life and lost things like your health, relationships, or your way of life because of disaster or unemployment, I wanted to give you the tips and tools as well as the encouragement to recover emotionally and spiritually from who or what hurt you so you could have the kind of life I want you to enjoy.

Most of you understand why I sacrificed my life for you and what an act of love that was. It is my hope that this letter will help you understand how very much more my life and ministry were to accomplish. I look forward to expanding our relationship now and forever.

Joyfully, Jesus

yes it's a fun book to write and almost have it finished. Most of the others are on crime and punishment, Vietnam, Victims and a few others, but this one like my women and motorcycles are fun ones to write ....will probably do the one for men like this one for women although I'm not sure I can find enough men over fifty to do it....finding the ladies was easy enough but I'm not sure I'll have such good luck with the men out there......but never know....

Hi Helen, good to get to know you. Holidays are getting near and I'm so busy with the last book I'm working on called, There IS life After Fifty which is a fun type book unlike some of the ones I've done in the past.

Just have to get the cover done but when my computer crashed, so did the program I used to do it with, so may have to find somene to help me put it together...anyway, great to be on your friend list....shirley

Profile Information

Hometown:
I was raised in Michigan and now live in Massachusetts with my daughter and son.
About Me and My Book:
I've written my first book with my co-author Curt Szajnecki called "Innocence Betrayed - A Dad's Story of Clergy Misconduct." It's a story of a typical family who goes to church on a Sunday morning to meet the new pastor. Little did they know, that this encounter would change every family member's life forever. The dad in the story doesn't see it coming, and he finds himself up against a powerful enemy. His trusted pastor cunningly spins his web and rips the family apart. The dad must fight the battle of his life to try and save his four daughters from the pastor's poisonous "venom" after he moves into the family unit.

The story is one of awareness, hope and healing. We've written a companion interactive workbook of questions to answer and thoughts to ponder. It's an aid for those who have been abused by a trusted authority figure and contains information for parents on how to teach their children and vulnerable adults about clergy misconduct, making them aware of the "signs" and possibility of it happening to anyone.

Forever Friends

I've been blessed with so many friends--and I've even written a story about some of them in the anthology of 47 world-wide authors called Forever Friends. I was thrilled to be included in this wonderful book compiled, edited and published by Shelagh Watkins.

I've met so many new friends through the Published Authors Forum. It was fun to be a contributor and to read all the other contributors entries of short stories and poems about friendship.

The book is available for a short time at t… Continue

Excited to be here

I'm excited to be here and thrilled to be a published author. Our book was just released at the end of September, and we're getting positive feedback from our readers. I'm interested in sharing promotional ideas with people.

We have a publicist and have sent out our first press release. I've had a book signing that went well and an interview coming out in the local newspaper. These are fun times!!
