- Hello everyone my name is April Sims and I am honored that you took time out of your busy schedule to visit my website.
A little bit about me
I am what most would call a modern day renaissance woman. I am an online talk show host, poet, spoken word artist, photography, graphic artist and more.
One day I decided that enough was enough and instead of complaining about the problem that I would contribute to the solution. In order to become part of the solution I created April Sims Arts and Entertainment to facilitate this dream.
Under the April Sims Arts and Entertainment umbrella I have created several companies including April Sims A & E Radio, which I co-host with Christopher 'Poetry Man' Fields and April Sims Travel, which allows family, friends and myself to travel to exotic places without paying the exotic price.
I have several dreams that I would like to give birth to within the next year or two.
First, I am a huge child advocate and feel they need a voice to speak for them. Many of our youth today cry in the dark and don�t know which way to turn. I would like to be one of many voices for them that will hopefully stop and at a minimum bring a little light to their dark situations.
Second, I have had several dreams of a one million poet march.
Third, I would like for everyone that had a positive dream to look fear in the face and start living their dreams for tomorrow is not promised to us and we may never have another day like today to start living our dreams.

'April Sims Unplugged' coming 2008
I am currently working on my self-published, debut book of poetry that will be entitled 'April Sims Unplugged', which will be released in early 2008.
My book will consist of inspiration, empowerment, motivational and educational poetry. With this book I plan to tour the world and speak for those that have no voice (e.g., children, abuse victims that are afraid to use their voice, etc.).

I would like to connect with you there also. I am trying to make more friends and fans so that I can spread awareness for breast cancer during pregnancy. I was diagnosed Stage 3 in the 5th month of my pregnancy in May. My status updates on Facebook and LinkedIn are usually about my fight.

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
