Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

Check out my latest blog post to read about my newest cover design, read the latest book review and find out how to attend my first book signing for the JGDS (Junior Geography Detective Squad) children's mystery state book series (signing as illustrator of course).

Here is the cover for the second book in the series just to tempt you further...

Hello Shara, I see you host a group of Florida writers. I am developing a new way for independent & self published authors and I am looking for a few Florida contacts. Give this a look and leave a comment if you can. I think it's a great idea if you use promotional bookmarks.

I hope you can help me by directing the members of your Florida Writers group to our marketing Co-Op.

I may actually be touring with my books in Florida this fall, one of which is about writing -- The Voice of the Muse: Answering the Call to Write. Would love to speak at your group, if that's a possibility.

Thanks for you invite Shara. I am in New Mexico so it would be a bit far for me to come to meetings. I may come that way in the near future with book signings though.

I'm working on a humorous book about garbage collectors and recyclers: Let's Talk Dirty about Garbage. My co-author and I have interviewed many garbage men and women across the nation. Lots of stories!

If you know anyone who'd want to be interviewed about their stories (with their name or anonymous) let me know.

Take care,
Shara
