Some Tips For Marketing your Books

Ah marketing! How I hate it! I think most writers do.

Marketing oneself as a writer. It does make one feel like a bit of a prostitute at times, no doubt about it. Not only do we have to have good imaginations these days, the ability to come up with plots and actually take months to write them down, take the abuse of publishers and their numerous rejections, but we have to do so much more! We have to market ourselves, and our work.

And that "ain't easy!" It can be time consuming, expensi… Continue

Getting The Research Right - Using Medieval Villages and Cities as Historical/Fantasy Story Settings

...Or, How not to End Up as the Village Idiot!

The Black Knight thundered down the road. He raced passed the old abbey. Its crenellated walls thrust defiantly upward, as if daring the forces of darkness to attack it. However, the knight knew that his best hope lay in the hamlet ahead of him. It was there that he was to meet with the White Wizard. So on he galloped, passing the wattle huts of the outlying and poorest inhabitants, and then past the quaint stone church with itsContinue

How to Get Your Book Published In Five Easy Steps!

Now this is going to be a daring article, because the title makes it sound as if I actually know what I’m talking about here. Well, I do -- to a point. I have been repeatedly published and at pro rates, and I do have three novels under contract, as well. So, I’m not entirely ignorant on this matter. And the reason I felt this article might have value is that I belong to an organization known as Critters.org, and being a member of it has brought something important to my attention.

NEW CONTRACTS FOR NOVELS!

I just had a letter of acceptance on my three novels, Veracity In Truth, Faith and Fallibility, and Lost Echoes from Class Act Books, so I am very happy indeed!

Thanks for your compliment Rob. And a more sincere thanks for "serving my country" comment. Sometimes, people occasionally overlook the benefits of freedom. Also, I do hope you find the opportunity to get a chance to read my new book, "Target Washington: The Search for Osama bin Laden," ISBN: 9781434375230. Some of the book details have already been aired on the CBS 60 Minutes on 7.12.09. Even though my book was published three months prior to the airing, I do not believe that any of the information used on 60 Minutes came from my book, just some of it coincidental.

Thanks Rob, that's also why I offer this sale once a year, so that authors that normally can't afford to have their books illustrated, can. I break the project down into installments. They can even choose their own payment schedule.

Oh, I thought you might like to see the illustration for my novella, Avenger Of The People, coming out this November with Aberrant Dreams hard cover anthology, The Awakening. I think it's great, but then, I can appreciate art, even if I can't do it! Ah well...
