Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

Cherie,
Would you happen to know of any organizations, pre-schools or congregations in your area that might find the Playdate Kids a useful tool for its children and parents? Thank you for your help.

Let me think about this a little and I will see what I can come up with to help you out.

About Me and My Book:
I met William "Slick" Hanner at a casino dealer's school. One look at his 20-page, hand-scrawled bio and I vowed to learn to write his story about a screw-up, adrenalin junkie who goes through life like a speeding freight train about to derail at any minute. Nine years and about a million drafts later, THIEF! The Gutsy, True Story of an Ex-Con Artist, (Barricade Books), 2006, hit the market. It's all about Slick's life with the mob, prostitution and gambling, a cross between classic film-noir and Damon Runyon. We seek a screenwriter and/or producer who understand how to craft and pitch this caracter-driven story.

Since THIEF's release, I've become something of mob "expert" in demand to write and edit other mob-oriented books. Currently working on a novel based on a true story about a serial rapist who kept a log of the last 3 years of his "Jekyll/Hyde" life before he committed suicide. The story is tailor-made for screenplay adaptation.

Editing a new biography about one of the most infamous mobsters who ever lived: Meyer Lansky. It's co-written by Lansky's daughter who was in her father's confidence the last 10 years of his life and Rick Porrello, true crime expert. Manager, Peter Miller, is representing the property.

I also write fiction. Completed a young readers gritty, urban detective story called Dog Justice.

Currently accepting a few writing/editing projects from serious individuals.
