I am a registered nurse/attorney, now retired. I now rehabilitate wildlife in the spring, enjoy the summer restfully and with my garden and do most of my writing in the fall and winter. I am fascinated with so many issues pertinent to life today: Economics, health care, animal protection issues, politics, our form of government and philosophy encompass some of those issues. My most important concern: True morality meaning not needlessly and intentionally causing pain or death to any living thing.
I have written two childrens books, many poems and many short stories, mostly about wildlife. I am only now, since my retirement, attempting to publish my writings. I am also interested in writing books on law in our society and medicine in our society, some self-help and some just philosophical and explanatory.
I am in the process of self publishing my first novel through Booksurge/Amazon. This book will be published as a paperback and for Kindle. It is entitled The Final War and 3001--Birth of a Political Renaissance. The novel is a futuristic politically progressive fiction.
In my book, fundamentalist Christian factions and fundamentalist Islamic factions transform all governments into oppositional theocracies This ultimately leads to the Great Religious War. The War kills off more than 99 percent of the population, Only those at the highest of elevations in the mountains all over Earth survive.
The book follows the surviving humans and animals while they attempt to endure. What about the terrible impact on the new generation? Can humanity survive despite calamitous after-effects from the war? Will there be another renaissance or will human life decay into anarchy? How will another economy come about? What impact will follow from changes in religious views immediately after the War? Will a sustainable code of morality replace old religious doctrine? Will members of the human species finally learn how to live in sustained peace? What will life be like in 3001? How will technical, social and political life evolve? Will this truly be the Final War? And, finally, will life be better or worse than it is now?
I now have a new website!! Come and see it at thefinalwarand3001.com. I also have a new email for the book which is thefinalwarand3001@sbcglobal.net.
I would like to connect with you there also. I am trying to make more friends and fans so that I can spread awareness for breast cancer during pregnancy. I was diagnosed Stage 3 in the 5th month of my pregnancy in May. My status updates on Facebook and LinkedIn are usually about my fight.

I am sending this out to BMN members who specialize in any aspect of children's book publishing, whether your an author, artist, publisher, or offer some other valued skill needed in the creation of children's books.
I invite you to follow my blogs and comment, critique, and network with me as friends (so I can follow your work too).
I have found ning in general to be the best marketing and reference tool compared to any advertising, networking, or leads I have ever used -- free or paid for. And all it's costs is our time.
Many of you are already in my friend network, and thank you for sharing your work with me. For those of you reading, this that I have not introduced myself too, I would like to now, and ask we be friends so I can follow your craft as well.
We all need to support each others work through this economic distress, no stimulus or bail out is going to help us.
In my latest blog post, you will also see three other ning networks that I have created. One for children's book professionals/enthusiasts, one for southern/Tennessee writers, artists, etc., and one for WillowRaven clients (present, past, or future) or simply just fans of my work. I invite you to join the appropriate ones for you as well.
I just came across your profile in this network. I would like to extend an invitation to join Allvoices.com. It’s a citizen journalist site. We discuss, debate, post news and report news about everything under the sun. Allvoices also has an incentive program for writers and they can make money writing, earn up to $10,000 cash. Register at http://www.allvoices.com/journalism and start contributing.
Hello, I'm Bert Martinez, I'm looking to network with success minded authors. If you would like my free report 30 Strategies for Selling More Books just fill out the form below. I look forward to networking with you and if there is anything that I can help you with please do not hesitate to contact me.
Hi Priscilla. Thanks for asking me to be your friend! Your novel sounds very interesting. I am a published author, and when my publisher went out of business, I decided to self-publish. However, I didn't need to start from scratch. I was looking more for a print-on-demand printer. I found a great resource, and have since used my knowledge and connections to help two other authors publish three books.
My process is all a la carte, so if a book meets my requirements, I can get it into the distribution pipeline as a print-on-demand book for as little as $175, which includes the ISBN, listing in the Ingram and Baker & Taylor catalogs, and one proof copy of the book. If you'd like to talk about getting your children's books into print, contact me at publisher (at) find-tech.biz.
Best of luck with your book sales. Here's some info I wrote about marketing your book: http://is.gd/hsfw

By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
