- I was born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England and grew up in the nearby village of Aston Clinton. I now live in Hamilton, New Zealand.
- About Me and My Book:
- I was born in England in 1949. In 1972, I graduated from Keble College, Oxford University with an Honours degree in Mathematics and completed a Post-graduate Certificate in Education the following year. I have toured the world extensively and have spent more than twelve years in the Solomon Islands and eleven years in New Zealand. I am a High School teacher and former Principal of King George VI National Secondary School, Solomon Islands. I am now pursuing a new career as an author. ‘Hope’, the first part of the fantasy trilogy ‘Windows on Our World’, written under the pen name of Les Bill Gates, is my first book. Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
