About Me and My Book:
I was raised in Wyoming and received my BA in English from Utah State University. I taught English in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Berkeley, California. Currently I live in Studio City, California, and work as a graphic designer.

The Black Garden is drama/mystery. The residents of Winter Haven have speculated for years about George O’Brien’s misdeeds; however, during the summer of 1958, when Mitchell Sanders arrives to help the O’Briens renovate their home, he discovers that not all of their skeletons are in the closet where they belong.

The Black Garden is now available!

Mitchell Sanders, a young university student from Boston takes on the summer job, in a small rural town, of clearing the accumulated rubbish from the house and garden of an elderly man, George O'Brien, and his granddaughter, Candice. The task is not as straightforward as he at first thought and Mitchell finds himself drawn into the mystery surrounding the Black Garden and the lives of his employers.

Succinct yet enticing blurb, well done. How is it selling? I'll go to your website and check it out. Always curious about how other authors are marketing their books? It's the most frustrating part of being successful at getting a book taken by a publisher. So much competition and small presses are at such a disadvantage because they have no funds for PR or sales reps to push the new list, etc. Hopefully good writing is recognized and readers will spread the word.

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
