- About Me and My Book:
- Black, a novice writer, spent years attempting to find his way into the comic book industry either by way of independent publishing or the old fashioned way of submitting story after story only to find rejection and disappointment.
Two years ago, with the support of his wife, Black began re-writing his comic book scripts into long fiction and the final product, No Vacancies, Vol. 1 was developed.
No Vacancies is a compliation of short stories that touch on various genres such as horror and action/adventure. In the first volume, Black introduces readers to four stories; two of which end on a cliffhanger and will be continued in the next installment of No Vacancies.
Black took queues from the old fashioned serials to develop his work. In commenting on the work, Black had this to say, "Using the serialized fiction format, I can develop multiple titles at one time and offer the reader a chance to enjoy more than one type of story."
No Vacancies, Vol. 1 appeals to readers of various genres of fiction such as mystery, horror, action/adventure and some fantasy. The serialized storytelling and cliffhanger endings will also entice comic book fans to pick up their copy as well.
Black also spoke of the personal aspects of writing saying that, "“As a writer, I don’t believe you can truly captivate an audience unless you can personally connect yourself to the work. It’s those life experiences that make good fiction that much better. I hope the fans enjoy reading these stories as much as I have enjoyed creating them."
