Audio book production company recommendations

Does anyone have any positive experiences with specific book production companies, making their print books into audio books? We're looking into this as a next step for both children's and adult titles and would like some feedback from those who have done it already. Thanks!

Marketing research on self-publishing

I'd love to get any personal feedback on true-life experiences from anyone who has been through the self-publishing process. If you can email me with answers to the following, I'd appreciate it.

Has anyone had success getting listed on NoveList?

It looks like a new service offered through the public libraries, called NoveList, is becoming a great resource for readers who are starting book clubs or looking for suggestions for books to read. Anyone have any experience with getting their books in the NoveList databases? As far as I can tell, and I might be wrong, it looks like this is a resource that is used from state to state (not a national database). Any information would be appreciated.

I'm asked all the time by authors, "Fine, my ranking is good.

But how many books have I sold on Amazon?"
Unfortunately that's hard to determine. But the article below
explains it better than I can. (copy and paste this link into your browser)

FREE Marketing is available, read here!

Authors ask me a lot if there is anything they can do to help the marketing effort. What, besides smile at everyone at your book signings, speak clearly when you do presentations and always dress nicely? :) Of course!

There are a few websites now where you can enter some of the info on you and your book(s) and post it for free. Now, keep in mind that most of them want to upgrade you to a paid account of some kind. You probably don't need to do that. Here is a list of websites I have be

It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
