Profile Information

Something About Me and My Book:
I am a freelance author, ghostwriter, screenwriter, playwright, blogger and columnist. My background not only includes writing, but I also enjoyed success as a classically trained musician. I participated in a master class with Leigh Howard Stevens, famed marimba expert. I also performed with the Beaumont and Lake Charles Symphony Orchestras where featured artists included Doc Severinson and other musical luminaries. I was accepted to the University of Texas at Arlington's college level percussion camp when I was 12 years old and auditioned at the famed Juilliard School in New York City at the age of 17. I holds a Bachelor of Music in percussion and counts her musical background as an important stepping stone to her successful writing career. Although I loves music, I discovered that writing was my true passion.

I've written/ghostwritten 2 screenplays, 9 books and am about to have my fictional thriller, "Glittering Secrets" converted to an independent film with Fast Track Productions sometime in my lifetime. My other screenplay, "Conversations with Pearl" garnered attention from the Project Greenlight critics and was featured at the Southern Festival of Books in 2002.

Reviews
Critic from Project Greenlight critiquing “Conversations with Pearl”
“...As a straight narrative it is touching and impressive…the action is small, personal and dramatic – the subject matter is serious and you have a flair for telling it in a readable conversational way…you have very obvious strengths…you have wit, humor, depth and perspective…”

"The Mango Tree Cafe, Loi Kroh Road" - A Combo Platter of WALLY LAMB and JOSEPH CAMPBELL - A Review by Jane Genova

There's a warning in 12-step programs, whose members are notorious for running away: Where you go, you bring yourself. A card-carrying member of diverse versions of those programs and plenty cynical since I am a serial runaway I expected that to be the theme of "The Mango Tree Cafe." It wasn't. Actually, it was a combo platter of Wally Lamb and Joseph Campbell.

About the Novel "The Mango Tree Cafe', Loi Kroh Road"

Description:

Imagine owning a restaurant near the jungles of Thailand that sits upon the most legendary mystical road in the world. Legend states that whomever walks upon Loi Kroh Road will be forever changed or shall never be seen or heard from again. In fact, the English translation of "Loi Kroh Road" is "Wash Your Bad Luck Away". Larry, the main…

A Feeling of Accomplishment

I feel truly blessed to be a part of a book where the story is so powerful, it brings me to tears each time I read it. I worked my tail off this past week or so finishing up the book, getting it printed and so forth so that it could be shopped in Beijing, China at the international book fair.

And, I have started a new blog which are commonly known as "Hubs" on this site. So, I have been trying…

A New Slant to My Services

It's funny, sometimes the obvious can hit you right in the middle of your face and until someone points it out, you don't really notice it. I was chatting with my writing partner who happens to live in Beijing, China and he mentioned that he was trying to steer business my way. You gotta love that Alan Solomon!

Anyway, he typed in an instant message last night the following:

..."I have a couple of mates that look like they will be interested in your services..."

Finding Your Bliss

I think that out of all the requests that I get for ghostwriting, completing novels for people seems to be the # 1 request.

And, that's just fine with me, because I absolutely LOVE to write novels. It's something that is so creative and expressive. I don't think I will ever grow tired of writing them.

Right now I am working on a novel for a client where I am performing "Book Doctoring" services. The novel is so beautiful and the tweaking and rewriting of sections comes very…

Hi Taryn

Congratulations on all your books. Very impressive, I'm still trying to finish one. :) I just wanted to mention to you a website I built called AlreadyPublished.com. It's for authors to promote their book. You do so by posting your book's first chapter, giving readers a peek into your book. The site is free and the list of books is growing, so please check it out. :) BTW, good luck with your books and that independent film you want to do. :)

p.s. You can also check out this blog post on the Already Published Ning Network, I explain how to post your book. You can also learn more about the website there.

Best,
John

Hello, Taryn.
I also am a music lover! I'm working toward bringing home my baby: A Kanabe Grand Piano! I study with a professional teacher . . . . . My writing will, hopefully, give me more time so that I can continue to write music - which I want to publish (someday!).
All-in-all, I've got about 7 books in my head, with no idea of how to write non-fiction - even though a few of the books are non-fiction!
Also, I've got a movie in my head! Busy head!!!
My next adventure will be learning what I need to do to write dialogues, develop characters, etc.
Thanks for posting to my page!
Looking forward to getting to know you!
Tamara
