About Me and My Book:
At the age of 22 (In 1982) Marlayne was inspired to write The Victor by a line in an Amy Grant song called: “Fairytale” (from her Father's Eyes album). The particular verse in the song which inspired the idea was: “two princes wage the battle for eternity but the victor has been known from the start”. The verse made her imagine an evil “Baron” in black armor and knight in shining armor crossing swords over a "maiden in distress".

The Victor was released on April 14th of 2009 and many doors have opened up for her reach readers. On a special note, Marlayne completed her own personal circle of inspiration by receiving a copy of The Victor autographed by Amy Grant herself.

Marlayne Giron is a wife and mother living in Orange County , California .

Amy Grant has a copy of The Victor and autographed mine!!!

Thirty years ago I was in my early 20's and working as John Styll's secretary at Contemporary Christian Music Magazine (CCM) when it was known as the Christian version of Rolling Stone magazine in Orange County, CA.

John was the editor and I was his receptionist/administrative assistant. At the time he hired me, the magazine had just changed its look from newsprint to a more professional-looking glossy magazine with Andre Crouch gracing the cover. During the course of my employment at CCM, we w… Continue

Stephen Lawhead, my favorite author has a copy of The Victor

I don't think it's any coincidence that I have all these people in my life and background. When I used to work for Contemporary Christian Music Magazine back in the early 80's, Stephen was a contributing editor. I found his management's address in New York at the back of one of his latest novels and wrote a letter to him and received a very nice, personal handwritten letter back, providing me with his home address in Oxford, England to send him a copy.

Of course, my writing doesn't even come cl… Continue

The fulfillment of an (almost) life-long dream...

Ever since I was a kid writing Steve Austin (Six Million Dollar Man) short stories with my best friend Lisa, I dreamt of having a book published but I never had the "big idea" until I was about 22 years old. I was listening to Amy Grant's latest album "Fathers Eyes" and in particular to her song entitled "Fairytale" when a particular verse caught my attention: "...two princes wages the battle for eternity but The Victor has been known from the start...

Being a J.R.R. Tolkien fan, an image poppe… Continue
