A CREATIVE CRISIS

Excerpted from "Miles to Go."

As the spring days marched along, Summer became more and more restless. Here she was in her senior year, and suddenly, despite several years of single-mindedly pursuing her photography and dabbling in sketching and oil painting, she felt the luster fading from the objects around her. Whenever… Continue

Betty Dravis Reviews "Web of Tyranny"

I seldom enjoy books longer than 350 pages, so I was intimidated when this book came in at a whopping 608 pages. Ouch! I almost shoved it to the bottom of the growing TBR pile.

But I've read this author before, so I decided to glance at page one. "Only page one," I muttered under my breath... But page one was enough. I was hooked!

Raine,
Timothy Desmond has just joined this site. He's going to be selling his historical thriller "For Thou Art With Me" at the Hanford BookFest on April 19. Please "befriend" this Valley author.

In my case, it was because my agent got me two back-to-back three-book contracts for six thrillers (counting INTERN). I had to learn on the run, so to speak. YA is a fun change. I don't have to kill anyone.

Thanks. It's original title was, "It Never Rains in California." The publisher called it "INTERN" because they thought it was more commercial. I wrote it as women's fiction. They marketed it as a political thriller. And then I had to write five more.
