About Me and My Book:
I Love You More was an answer to a prayer--so I've always believed that it is meant to be in the world in a big way. Self-published we sold 179,000 copies and had the honor of making it into John Kremer's Self-Publishing Hall of Fame! In 2007 we partnered with Sourcebooks and they helped us land on the New York Times Bestsellers List 3 times--so far ;-) We're at 250,000 copies and climbing along with foreign editions being published in Korea and Israel.

I Love You More (ILYM) is a flip-sided book, meaning it starts from both sides and reads to the middle-like love it never ends and it represents the 2 sides of love-the giving and receiving. Though it is a children's picture book people buy it for loved ones of all ages.

Written by me--Laura Duksta and illustrated by my friend Karen Keesler, together we call ourselves Hippie and The Bald Chick.
You can find out more about us at www.HippieandTheBaldChick.com
or at http://groups.to/iloveyoumore on Facebook.

ILYM is the 1st children's picture book to be published by a major publisher in digital format and the board book version is available this Fall 2009.

We've been featured in USA Today, AOL Online, EPregnancy, Pregnancy Mag Buyers Guide, featured in Boca Magazine as 2 people under the age of 40 Making a difference in South Florida and more as well as on/in countless radio programs and blogs. ILYM was a Winter booksense pick, has won an iparenting media award, the DYI Festival Best Children's book in the US and London, I Shine also took top honors of Best Publisher at the DIY Festival in 2003, etc :-)

My next book is scheduled for a 2010 release with Sourcebooks.

There is a pool of Love . . .
that holds all things that are in existence . . .
this pool’s waters are so pure . . .
it washes away illusions . . .
of time and space . . .
. . . with this being said,
what is there to know ? . . .
for even knowledge bows ! . . .
. . . to honor love. . .

Thank you Laura! I am so glad you had a chance to listen to the music and enjoyed it. That means the world to me. . .It was a blast composing songs that reflected the personality of Allister and Henry. Thank you for all of your encouragement!

My original, life long dream was to own a restaurant. That dream changed when my girls, my sister and her girls and all of our grandkids went to the mountains for a Mother-Daughter Trip. Each of us had a meal, by ourselves, to prepare for everyone. We had to come up with a theme, decorate, cook and clean afterwards. That was the only meal we would be responsible for during the whole trip. Mine was "Tropical." I cooked a marinade chicken, a pineapple & coconut salad and can't remember what else. By the time I cooked for, I think there were 21 of us, I was so tired I didn't want to do anything but go to bed and rest. A cookbook is hard work but so much easier than a restaurant.

I told one of the girls in my LOA class to look you up on Facebook. I should tell her to come to bookmarket.ning too. She wrote a "Beading" book and it will come out soon. Sounds sort of boutique-ish, I thought she may be inspired by your continuing story. So look for a gal from Ohio to connect with you soon.

I always wanted to own a restaurant but now I'm too old for all of that work so I write cookbooks instead.

Hello Beautiful!!! I love you more!

Oh, I can't wait to get your next book!!! You are a perfect inspiration of doing it BIG!

Since I wrote my bio here, I've been "included" in another book 113 Things to Do by 13, by mother and daughter team... Brittany and Terri McCleod. One of my students asked me tonight... "When is your book coming out?" Uh... It is getting to that magical point where it may be more painful for me not to write it, than it is to write it. And that is a good thing!

SHINE ON-Beautiful ONE.
