No One Way

There is no one way to write a book, market a book, or anything else in life. (Please excuse the early morning philosophy.)
Since I wrote my last post, way last summer, I have marketed my book, which will be out in the next month, here, there and everywhere. I have used word of mouth, guest blogging, Facebook and MySpace. I have told all my friends and relatives. I have sent emails to people I don't know and received positive response and great opportunities for promotion. I have done all this w… Continue

The Gate House

The old gate house where they lived in the English Midlands was cold and filled with secrets. And Nara wasn’t the only one who felt its mystery. Although Nara’s aunt insisted the building held nothing more than useless trinkets and cheap copies of 19th century art work, someon… Continue

Tired Thoughts

Writing is a job - an atypical job - but still a job. I will stop at 5 p.m., just like any 9 to 5 worker. That's the only way the work gets don.
The advantage is that I am in my own house, sitting at the dining room table, wearing shorts and a T-shirt. And since it is the end of the day and I am doing routine tasks, I have been watching Oprah.
This morning I worked on the final rewrites for my novel, The Gate House. I finished the actual writing almost two years ago. Believe me -- it has… Continue

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The blessings we ask for this season
Aren't the kind that come wrapped with a bow;
We're asking for gifts from the heart,
Ones we need and never outgrow.
May we see in these bright decorations
With their colors and lights all aglow,
The beauty and wonder of life
That God's world was created to show.
Let the peace and goodwill of this season
Be feelings that we can extend
Far into the following year
To our neighbors, our family, and friends.
Most of all, may we always remember
To open our hearts every day and share all the love and the joy
In a special and meaningful way.

Thank you so much for your kind comment. I apologise for being so long replying, I've been home to Wales for several weeks and also had pc problems.

Your book looks fascinating as well. I'm sure you can't wait for it release. Congratulations and good luck.
