About Me and My Book:
I have a heart for hurting women. I had an abortion at the age of 25, after leading a life filled with drugs, alchohol and promiscuity.

I found my husband at age 36 and had our two sons at age 37 and 39.

When I was 40, I found Jesus, but I still had the pain and shame from my past weighing me down.

When I was finally able to hand all the junk over to Jesus, I was set free.

My first book was this story, and then God started giving me life lessons to share with others. That was four years ago, my fifth book went to the publishers about three weeks ago and the stories keep flowing.

I speak with various groups and organizations sharing the hope and healing that comes from a life given to Jesus.

Carson In Washington

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5,6

On Saturday, Bobby and I put Carson on an airplane and he flew off by himself to Washington, DC. Five months ago, when his teacher nominated him to go to the Junior National Young Leaders Conference, I had some serious doubt… Continue

Clean and Clear

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23,24

Every night before the boys go to sleep, I spend a few minutes with them. I lay down beside them, ask them about their day, chat a bit and then we pray. Afterwards, the lights go out and out they go as well.

A while back, Carson was having some behavior problems, he was just not himself. It turned out, he had an issue ins… Continue

The Gift

But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

Once upon a time there was a King of a mighty kingdom. He was a good King and he loved his people very much. One day he called twelve of his top leaders to come to him. He had a surprise for them. He gave them each a gift. A fabulous, marvelous gift. A gift like none they had ever seen before. He told his men to go out and share this gift with the rest of his people... the gift was limitless. They would never run out of t… Continue

More Than I Expected

And my God will meet all your needs acording to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

I was telling someone about my vacation and I made the statement that it was more than I had expected. I had thought we'd have a good time, but I wasn't really sure if the boys would be in best friend or worst enemy mode. It can go either way on any given day. And can change instantly, without warning.

Throw in the fact that we were going without Bobby, and I just wasn't sure how it wou… Continue

Victory Over Aquatica

For God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

As I mentioned the other day, the boys and I are in Orlando. As my friend, Cindy, said, "A kid's dream vacation." And she's right. I really didn't plan it that way, but when you have two little boys, well, you do things that they like. And that's okay. I enjoy seeing them happ… Continue

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
