About Me and My Book:
Pattie Caprio (illustrator) and Irene Y. Tsai (author) combine their talents in a “re-told” Chinese idiom, The Frog in the Well. This old Chinese fable compares a frog who has a limited vision, living in a deep well, to a sea turtle living in a vast Eastern ocean. This book offers a fascinating insight through a simple story between a narrow-minded frog and a receptive turtle. Children will learn to read in English and Chinese at the same time, as well as, the use of Chinese idiom in their daily conversation. This idiom is written in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, along with its Zhu Yin Fu Hao and Pinyin, which offers a broad spectrum for learning Chinese and English simultaneously. By learning two languages, your children will be more prepared for the global market place. “The Frog in the Well” is translated from English to Chinese by Joyce Lin.

Irene Tsai, Ph.D. is an engineer by training and has published articles in The World Book Encyclopedia for children and scientific journals. She was born in Taiwan and grew up in Queens, New York. She believes books can change lives. Indeed, books have motivated, challenged and reassured her throughout her life. Growing up in Flushing, New York, she spent many hours reading books in Chinese and English in Flushing Public Library and Chinese Culture Center. She credits her ability to communicate in both Chinese and English to her mother who loved reading Chinese literature and watching traditional Chinese movies. Irene is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators.

The Frog in the Well is illustrated and designed exclusively by talented artist, Pattie Caprio, who is a Visual Communicator for over 35 years. She received recognition for her artwork at the early age of seven. Ms. Caprio was inducted into the National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, in 1996, and in recognition of outstanding contribution to the Preservation and Appreciation of the Heritage of the Upper Delaware Valley, she received an award for illustrating and co-published “Falling Feathers” the Pocono Indian Presence.

Hi Rita,
Yes, this is my first book. The book is targeted for age 5 and up. It is written in English and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified characters). No, I have not found a distributor. Suggestions on distributors? It sounds like you found a distributor. How is working out?
Keep in touch!
