About Me and My Book:
My name is Richard Neal Huffman. I am the author of two books, Dreams In Blue: The Real Police and Rubal. The first is a non-fiction based on real life police stories. It is a no-holds-barred look at real life police. Far too many police books gloss over the people who serve and protect us each day and night. This is not a book to 'put down' police, rather a book that tells it like it is; the good and the bad.
My second book is a fiction based on historical fact. It starts off with Rubal Kincade, a young Union soldier, during the Civil War. It is full of adventure. It has many historical facts surrounding Rubal as he goes through life as a soldier and then into civilian life's many challenges.
I also have many short stories, soon to be ten in all. All my work can be found on Amazon.com.

Surviving cancer.

During the fall and spring of 1999-2000 I suffered from a recurring bout of sore throat problems. The doctor would put me on antibiotics, it would clear up and then return. I was then diagnosed with sleep apnea. I was put on a c-pap machine to help me breathe as I slept. The machine burned out, even while set on its highest pressure setting. This happened two or three times.

I paid a visit to a nurse at the VA clinic and she advised me to go see an ear, nose, throat specialist at the V…

Hello, Richard.

Yes, some stories would be good. Maybe you could also include some resources for your readers such as websites that might interest them. -Kim

Hi, Richard.

Yes, a booklet that ties in with your police book would be a great promotional tool. Who is your audience for Dreams In Blue?

What you'll need to decided first is whether you would make the booklet a mini version of your booket with some excerpted stories, or if you want to write additional material for the booklet that ties in with the book. It's completely your call and will depend on your audience and what you feel will best draw them in.

Charlotte, I wish I could give you some tips in that area but I'm about as lost as most in that area. My books sell in the UK and Canada but the publisher made that arrangement through Amazon. I do see the one, Rubal, on Ebay but that is individuals that for some reason decided to sell it.
Best wishes with your books.

Hello, Richard.

I'm getting back to you regarding your comment to me on August 24th. I don't buy manuscripts. My company produces booklets for clients from their manuscripts, and they pay us for our services.

If you want to make your stories into a booklet, my question for is what do you want your booklet to do for you? Do you want it to market your book(s)? Do you want it to open new markets for your writing? Do you want it to gain media attention? What is your goal with your writing?

Knowing what you are trying to accomplish will help me determine whether a booklet can help you get there, and if so, the best way to proceed with your marketing.
