- Detours to Destiny, the beginning of a series, is a book ministry with a mission to empower humanity. The Holy Spirit is grieved over the many errors and deceptive lies destroying God's greatest and most valued creation: humanity. Detours to Destiny was borne out of the desires of the heart of God to once again rescue His people out of bondage. It may be the last time God declares, “Let my people go.“
Detours to Destiny was written under the direct influence of the Holy Spirit at a time when the author, Dee Cooper-Durden, was living in the midst of fiery trials and tribulations. The only thing left for her to do was fast, pray, and seek God vigorously. She spent the majority of her time passionately pursuing God in prayer, worship, research, and fasting -- then one night something incredible happened.
On this eventful night, her pastor, Bishop T.D. Jakes, prophesied to the Potter’s House audience that God spoke to him declaring that there were certain people in the audience who had supernatural ministries, but were under supernatural attack and God was commanding him to pray for them. God told him to literally lay hands on these people. Dee knew that she was one of them, so she did not hesitate to go up for prayer. After he prayed for her, God moved powerfully, more powerful than she'd ever experienced. She felt someone fall to the floor beside her and she heard the screaming audience as she was overtaken in the Spirit of God.
She had already been through many changes in her life and this experience caused another major turn, but a welcomed one. Her writings increased more and more and continued to flow. She wrote poetry of sermons before they were preached and prophecies long before they were fulfilled. She wrote things that she did not understand and found truths that she had never known.
Dee had been writing and creating since she was very young. Her father had her first poem book printed when she was 17. When she gave her life to God at the age of 17, she started writing, but not in the magnitude that God raised her to at The Potter‘s House. After God did a work on her at the Potter’s House, he charged her to rededicate herself. Dee surrendered her all to God and He used her vessel of honor to write Detours to Destiny with a message to reach out to all the world.
The main purpose and mission of the books are to:
touch and transform lives by means of the Spirit of Truth which is in great battle against the Spirit of Error;
challenge and warn against entrapments and bondage of the Wanderlands;
help fight against the evil net for the souls of men;
empower all to discover who they really are
equip with knowledge, wisdom, and power to rise up to the call and achieve the ultimate outcome: divine destiny
bless all who possess the book with an unusual blessing.
God warned everyone in the holy scriptures that in the last days it would become harder and harder for man to stay on track due to the deceptive tactics and schematics of the enemy. He knew that it would be even more difficult for the lost man to find His way; therefore, He stirred up the gifts He placed in Dee to design Detours to Destiny so that it would shine a light on the things hidden and reveal the truths while exposing errors and giving warning signals and awareness to the body of Christ, all in the spirit of love.
The book’s mission is so important to God that He has caused a miracle image to appear on the cover of the book. If you look at the front cover, you will witness this image standing in the clouds. It is so wonderful when you actually have the book in your hands and you see this image appear right before your own eyes. You will be amazed when you see it and may wonder if it's really happening. Well, it's really happening and it will make your heart overflow with joy. The effect it will have on you will be proof enough of it's authenticity.
