Gallery: 2008 Triple-A All-Star Game in Louisville

The third annual Gramling Minor League Baseball All-Star Game was last night. The 2008 edition saw is take in Triple-A action in Louisville. Methinks I Smell Some Winds o’ Change

As you probably already realize, I blog here at WordUp pretty infrequently. It’s not that I don’t have thinks to say or that I don’t want to blog them. In fact, the truth is, there are many things I observe and consider but I just don’t ever get around to blogging it out. This is NOT [...]

Box Art in The Classic City

The Downtown Auburn Business Association is currently presenting “Out of the Box Art: A Celebration in Trompe L’Oeil.” The summer art exhibit features several “boxes” of art that are done by local artists in the style of Trompe L’Oeil; which is attributed to the style of painting that achieves the sense of being three dimensional. About Me and My Book:
Chad Gramling has four passions: God, family, baseball and writing. A published author and accomplished blogger, Chad makes his home in Auburn, Indiana where he was born and raised.

Baseball in Fort Wayne was published by Arcadia Publishing in February 2007. It features nearly 200 historic photos and images of baseball in and around Fort Wayne, Indiana along with the detailed accounts of the game from the late 1800's through the 2006 season.

I am currently completing yet another round of edits on a novel called Distant Replay. It begs the question, “What if the greatest sports heroes of all time could take the field with today’s athletes?” But it further questions that rhetorical fantasy scenario by wondering “What if they already were?” I plan to resume seeking representation and/or a publisher for this title very soon. More information can be found at my website. If you are interested and able to help me bring this book to market, please let me know.

Baseball in Fort Wayne

The Fort Wayne Wizards’ 1993 arrival marked the beginning of professional baseball in northeast Indiana for many. However, the city boasts a rich baseball heritage that traces its roots to the very origins of the game. In fact, baseball and its record books begin with Fort Wayne. Over more than 135 years, dozens of teams have called Fort Wayne their home field, making players into local legends and stars who excelled in the spotlight of baseball’s biggest stage. Baseball in Fort Wayne recounts the sport’s presence in the city, from the earliest days of 1871’s Kekiongas to today’s Wizards, as well as those who took the field in between.

Hi! Some of my adult life has had close links with Indiaina. I did graduate work in Bloomington and have close links in Anderson. Fort Wayne is just up the road. I never knew that FW had such a rich baseball heritage. Both of my brothers were always on baseball teams when we were growing up so I miss going to the ballpark since I have lived in the Middle East for nearly 30 years. Sounds like an interesting book. Good work! Wish you the best in all you do.
