I started my career in the "Corporate World" in sales and marketing. As I worked my way up the proverbial ladder, I moved into various management roles. In these roles, I discovered that in addition to the very real and sometimes urgent need to produce short term sales results on a weekly and quarterly basis, there was an equal or greater need to produce long term results through the proper management of our human resources, in other words, career planning and strategy. It soon became apparent that many "citizens" of the corporate world merely gave lip service to the mantra of "Do what you love and the money will follow" rather than realizing the logical strategy of following your strengths and talents for long term success. Combining this need for career advice with my own strengths of people development and motivation, my book, "Purpose Takes Guts!" was born!
Thanks. I have worked in that field for 40 years, and invented a lot of the methodologies now is use with regard to voter contact, candidate prep and training, targeting and message development. I am very near completion of the first draft of that work - hope to expand it into CDs and other media, training programs, etc.
