Still Waves Publishing Accepts Sci-fi//Fantasy, Sci-fi/Horror, Romance, Suspense/Thriller/Mystery, Children's Literature, Self-help, Education, Instructional, & Biography Submissions.

As an illustrator; diversity in what I draw is extremely important to me.

My portfolio requires it to land new contracts.

My psyche requires it for my creative outlet.

How does this relate to Still Waves Publishing?

Simple...lol... those that are familiar with my published work thus far know I work primarily for a Christian PH. I do get the occasional side job, but nothing big. So a large portion of my work is of a Spiritual/Christian nature, even the kid's books are Christian based most of the time.

Anyway, I want to get my work seen on more than just Christian lit, and that means more publishers.

Still Waves Publishing is accepting submissions right now in the genres I am wanting to work in: Sci-fi//Fantasy, Sci-fi/Horror, Romance, Suspense/Thriller/Mystery, Children's Literature, Self-help, Education, Instructional, & Biographies.

How does this help me connect with writers that want published with my work on the cover or on chapter pages?

Again it's simple...this particular ph let's authors choose their illustrator as long as they meet their standards. I have submitted my portfolio & they have placed me on their illustrators list.

Now that I have made the grade, all I need now is for authors to request my work.

So get submitting!

Submission requirements are posted here:

Wouldn't you like my work on your cover?

LOL...

I'm delighted to say that Still Waves will be publisihing three of my books in paperback this year. The Nemesis Cell, and Purple Death are full-length mystery/thrillers, and Avenue of The Dead is a novella set in the ruined city of Teotihuacan in Mexico.

Glad you mentioned that Brian, I was just telling a skeptical reader that you were signed traditional contracts too for all three of your upcoming releases.

That's quite right Aidana,

As you know, I will not under any circumstances sign with a publisher who charges any fees whatsoever. I only accept traditional publishing contracts from legitimate publishers, as in my books with Double Dragon Publishing and Rain Publishing. All of my books with Still Waves Publishing are signed under straight forward traditional publishing contracts. I would not consider any other type of deal for my books.

Absolutely,

Though not all authors have your fanbase to be able to demand such a contract either...lol.

As an illustrator, I will design a cover for any type of publishing. As a reader, I will read what interests me, I care not what type of contract it was signed under.

As an agent, I go for the trad. unless my client wants something else, whether it be speed or higher royalty rates over the print run. I work for them.

You mean I have a fan base? Wow, who is he? or she?...lol

Seriously though, I do appreciate what you're saying. I know that I'm fortuante in that I do have something of a following, (I can't shake him off), and my previous 'record' probably allows me to be a bit more demanding at the negotiating table, and that wouldn't apply to a new and inexperienced author perhaps. Even so, I would always advise anyone writing a book to hold out for the best contract they can get.

Although there are only two of us conversing here at present, I will say here and now for anyone else coming along and reading this that Aidana has so far done a great job of representing me as a literary agent. I think she likes me as a client too, which is why we're so free with the insults and the brickbats we throw at one another...lol

Creepy cool Brian.

Excellent, Aidana. I hope all goes well. We're rather slow right now at 4RV because all of our editors are busy with books that will be coming out later this year. We're now accepting books for 2009, but the acquisition editors look for things that meet our guidelines and needs.

I know we'll be needing something from you before long, though. I hope someone takes your leopard seeing spots and writes a children's book for it.

Great Vivian, with your permission, I'll post a shout out for ya'll at 4RV too.

I want my work on ya'lls overs also...lol.

And Brain, if ya weren't so creepy, you wouldn't attract those stalker types... but then again - Jack the Ripper fans buy books to, eh? (btw ya'll Brian wrote "A Study in Red" before I had the pleasure of knowing him - but it definitely has EVERYBODY'S eye on all his other works... hence my wanting the creepy-cool boy attached to me...lol).

I'll make it one of my next two posts, what genres you work with & a link to your submission page.

I'll also let them know I am acceptable under your guidlines as an illustrator, so if they say they want me for their book, they've got me at your PH.
