THE BALLAD OF THE O'DONNELL HOUSE
My musical tribute to two young Irish, Ellen O'Donnell McAllister and her younger brother, Charles O'Donnell, who were murdered in this house on December 10, 1875. Their story was the inspiration for my novel, THE PIPES ARE CALLING. Lyrics, music, and vocals are by me, with Danny Thomas on keyboard and my community theatre clan, The Lift Your Spirits Performing Arts Group, on backup vocals. THE PIPES ARE CALLING takes place in Donegal, Ireland and the hard coal regions of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
