Hi Michelle, I held out for an agent to get a big publishing house, but I found that the industry is in a bit of disarray currently. I decided to self-publish, at least that is my current leanings. Good luck with your writing!

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

Hi,
Good luck with your book. Were you there when it happened?
Oh, and by the way if you or any of your friends like to read romances, please visit my website and vote on the romance theme you like the best. Thanks.
I'm a big advocate for independent DIY book publishing. I think it's the route to go, even if you eventually want a traditional publishing deal down the road.
I just added an audio track to my profile page called "6 Reasons to Self-Publish Your Own Book." Hope it helps.
Michelle,
I am so happy you were able to talk to Patrick Snow. I feel that he is just good people and a marvelous publishing/speaking coach. He has many successful clients and I have only heard positive things about him where ever I go. Keep me in the loop as you continue in this successful adventure.
With warmest regards,
Shannon

Thank you Michelle for becoming my friend and I too look forward to sharing ideas with you! I am still very new to this forum and learning. I have a book that I want to write but do not know how to do it, something about changing the names to protect the innocent! It will be my story true life but I have to change the names of everyone and I am not sure how to write it this way. Thanks for joining me as a friend! :) Jenifer
