Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

Hi Jerry,

It is good to know you are working hard on your next book.

I wanted to explain that Author Promotion wasn't something you joined. Authors can have their books featured on the site and/or use the resource directory to help promote their work. Be sure to visit to learn more about the web site.

Hi Jerry,

I would like to invite you to join my Ning Book Marketing network. I have been a published author for many years and love to network with others who have a passion for writing and publishing.

If you get a chance, please visit my blog to read my special feature called The Author’s Corner. This week’s featured author is Nikki Leigh. http://www.kathleengage.blogspot.com Nikki shared some excellent tips on how an author can market themselves.

Have a great day.

How does a fledgling author set up a book signing? I have heard that some new authors bring their own books to Barnes & Noble on a consignment basis for the event. At least that is what I understood from an author in San Diego. I am the moderator of a book promotion forum and would like to share your thoughts on the subject.

Congratulations! I hope your book does well. When you self publish is it hard to get your book distributed to bookstores? Do you have a 5th book in mind? I have three books published: one is on Amazon and barnes and Noble websites. It is Culture Smart Turkey. If you would like to read my column I write for a newspaper in Turkey. I write as a columnist for Today s Zaman an English national and international newspaper printed in Turkey and on the web. You can read one of my articles if you go to: http://www.todayszaman.com/tz-web/yazarDetay.do?haberno=120328 Hope you enjoy. Keep writing and wish you much success!

Jerry,
My daughter left a four-year-old son, whom we have since adopted, and he is ten now. We had so many family meetings on my daughter's death before I wrote the book, as I would rather cut off my right arm, then cause my husband, and son any more pain then they had already gone through. They both wanted me to write the book, and when it got rough for me, and I wanted to quit, they both encouraged me to continue. They both deserve much more praise then I do.
Thank you,
Donna

Hey, Jerry,
You are a go-getter, aren't you? Four self-published books! Any author on this network who wants to "swap" books with me is welcome to contact me. Send a few business cards or bookmarks with your book and I'll give them out. (No x-rated, erotica, etc.) Thanks for the invite, Jerry, and keep on churning out those books!
Blessings,
Linore
PS: I can't post my email, so get on my author page to contact me if you'd like to swap books or just "talk" books. :D
