Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

That's right. How are you doing on marketing your historical fiction? What has given you the best results? My historical novel Wai-nani: High Chiefess fo Hawai`i is set in the period between 1750-1820.
Thanks
Linda

Who did your cover art? I find it mysterious & inviting, I think revealing just the neck/shoulder line (in my opinion a very romantic view) was a great idea... was it somhowe part of the stories too? Are the books connected, the theme sort of matches? Or was it just the same artist?

Anita,

Good luck as you grow in your craft.

During my motorcycle trip to all four corners of the United States (the subject of my book), I visited what i thought to be a very unusual place called Yee Haw Junction.

If you're looking to grow, maybe that place will give you some inspiration. You can read an excerpt from my book, about Yee Haw Junction, at my website 21DaysWithDad.com

Let me know what you think. I'll help if I can!

Vaya con Dios!

Hi Anita,
The Seventeenth Century, ah! I wrote one short story set in your time period, which (some day) I plan to expand into a full novel. Charles II, Rochester, Churchill, cavaliers and roundheads; royal mistresses and court intrigues--fun, fun, fun, to be sure.
Blessings!

Hi Anita,
Welcome and best wishes for learning more about the craft. Sometimes you just have to go for it and "do it" and not worry so much about the learning. At least for me that is true. Your books sound intriguing.
