I wrote you, 2 yrs ago, about a book I wrote about a female Maya shaman. Now, I've moved on -- my 5th book about pickpockets in Puerto Rico (this book is heavy on Santaria religion. Religion and spirituality are great motivators.

Usually to put out a press release nationally, contact radio, TV, magazines and newspapers it costs $100 an hour or $2,500 or $3000. If the author wants to focus on local media, it will be less. There are so many ways to get publicity - contact bloggers, get on the internet with reviews, work with traditional media, the outlets are increasing daily. I do not market books directly but at BookBuzzr we will tweet about

Also I would recommend you contact Big bookstore chains like - Landmark, CrossWords and Odyssey. They are the right places to place your book.
