Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

Hi Tom, great to have you on my friend listing and thanks for your comments. I wish I liked to do book signings but I really don't. Most of my books are on crime and punishment and my latest is my life story, A Mothers Torment which was published back in 93.

However the publisher took out so much of the story and changed names and it's my life and I wanted everything in there It's all true and I don't care if they try to sue me for telling the truth. I can prove what I say is true.

They railroaded my son to death row and I have a letter from the minister in Nashville where he says he knows my son is innocent because Chief told him so.

But he said it was priviledged information and he won't tell it to the public....he let my son die by medical neglect after twenty two years inside for a crime he never committed and one he knew he was innocent.

To me that's protecting the guilty. Although he is on the row, my son would have been alive today had he been out on the streets with me and gotten medical care. That's why I rewrote it this year and brought it up date and put it all in there.

I mean what can they do to me. I live on SS and what I make with the books so there isn't anything they can do. I don't care. I just want to prove my son's innocence before I die. I spent the past thirty years trying to do so, living in a state I hate to do so and to be with him, but now he's gone as is my youngest son who also spoke out with me, so there isn't anything left they can do to hurt me.

I just hope I can do so before time catches up with me.....good to get to know you. Shirley

Okay, I’ll check your website out more closely. I looked it over briefly yesterday and I was impressed by how professional if looked. Who did that site for you? It doesn’t happen to be a free website does it?

We have a lot in common. I did some work for the Canton Players Guild in - well Canton - Ohio that is. I also did a stretch in the Navy. I was a Yomen - not a very good one though. I am also an author and will have a couple more books coming out within 12 months - I think. I'm new here and it is nice to meet you.
