Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

Is the book that you are considering doing a novel, or it it more along the lines of poetry? From reading some of your work on your page your verses seem like they are more aphoristic (sayings) in nature than poetry. The pictures capture the attention, and your writing that accompanies them makes you consider the visual presented. Very stimulating. I think that a book of your sayings with commentary along with visual images would make a great book for you. Is the book that you are considering doing a novel, or it it more along the lines of poetry? I am in the final publishing stages of my book, but i would be more than welcome to speak with your further about help with proofreading.
I completely understand about the copyrighting issue. In the past, I learned the hard way that this is necessary. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A POOR MAN'S COPYRIGHT! Spend the $45 dollars ( $35 if registering online) to protect your intellectual property. Even though we may take our art seriously, there are some who don't have that same respect for themselves or other's art. Always copyright your work!
My cover design prices are discounted right now since I need vacation/moving money, so you could get a cover at half price till the 15th. Illustrations for interior chapters normally are $150 each, but these are also discounted to $75 till the 15th.
