Putting author interviews on my blog and being active on Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. is driving traffic my way. I hope some of them are buying books!
Facebook also now has a badge to put on other sites. I'll soon get around to putting mine here. And vice verse.
I keep two blogs up religiously (obviously this isn't one of them). My main blog,
Science Fiction and Other ODDysseys and my Live Journal blog,
Science Fiction Matters; And all things Lavrattian (to a lesser extent).
Getting my short stories published (which always include a bio in which I can mention my book) and appearing at conventions has helped as well.
I now have people coming to me for help with social networking and building their platform. I'll be speaking at a writer's conference in October on the subject of Web presence and platform.
I don't know what my current book sales are like yet, but I sleep easy knowing I'm doing all I can to help them. And still finding time to keep writing on my sequel
to Awesome Lavratt.
