FOLKHEART PRESS launches two new e-book in celebration of March as Folktale Month

"Folktales: What Are Yours?"
& "Spanish Cuisine One Region
at a Time: Catalonia"

FolkHeart Press celebrates families and their folklore with the launch of two new e-books, Family Folktales: What Are Yours? and Spanish Cuisine One Region at a Time: Catalonia during the nationally recognized Folklore Month of March.

Family Folktales: What Are Yours? encourages readers to write their own family folktales. The forty two page book ($7.95) explores the world of folktales and explains how folktale motifs can be used to describe people, places, and things that can be preserved in writing. Writing exercises and sample folktales are included.

“Every family has stories and folktales are an easy way to preserve and share them,” said award-winning author, journalist, and folklorist Karen Pierce Gonzalez.

The paella of Barcelona is at the heart of this first book in the Spanish Cuisine series. Spanish Cuisine One Region at a Time: Catalonia (twenty pages, $5.95) offers food lore and facts about the cuisine of Barcelona, Spain as well as cooking tips and a paella recipe that can be customized.

“Cooking for family and friends should never be a lost art. People can practice the recipe and change ingredients, if desired, to make it their own special paella recipe,” noted Barcelona Chef Eduardo Balaguer of Venga Paella, a catering company in the San Francisco Bay Area.

FolkHeart Press produces books about folktale-related topics. Across the country folktales are gaining in popularity and are now being told in many forms, including written stories, scrapbooks, and blogs.

Established in 2007, the press’ publishing credits also include the newly revised eighty four page workbook Family Folktales: Write Your Own Family Stories. Available this summer, the workbook includes more detail about folktales as well as techniques for creating family folktale podcasts and scrap books. For information: www.folkheartpress.com.
