Update - Author Writing Contest

I would like to thank all of you who voted for my sci-fi novel on www.americanauthorcontest.com I won the fiction category.

Winners of each category are based on the number of votes they receive.

After the four winners of each category are selected a grand prize winner from the indivdual category winners will be selected. My chances will be one out of four.

If anyone is interested they are currently taking submissions for Children's fiction or non-fiction. Submission deadline is Sept 30th, 2007

(Note: I did receive an email from another member where the link they provided has people questioning the legitimacy of the contest. I am choosing to remain positive, which is the way I always try to live my life.)

Yes the link you gave seems to be the same one, but I do question some of the thoughts these people have. For instance, "Some of the entries...uh...not quite ready for publication" Although I did agree to some degree; the contest is based on American Idol and some of the people on that show should not have made it past the front door.

However, I am not from the United States so the geography of the area they are discussing is possible.

I will wait for the mail and keep you all posted.

I will most definitely watch for any bill. There shouldn't be an offer to publish as that is only given to the Grand Prize Winner.

I had already begun searching for a publisher, before entering this contest, even though I had only started writing it.

We will see what happens...I am looking at this as a lesson learned and will remain positive.

if it is, I'd tread carefully... if there's a bill coming with your award and an offer to "publish", beware!
