Why I wrote The Adventures of Little Buddy and Grizz

Why I wrote The Adventures of Little Buddy and Grizz I wanted to take a modern day setting and a writing style that goes back in time before Yogi Bear and Charlotte’s Web to the time of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. I did not want illustrations to distract who the characters were. I wanted the reader to be Buddy and experience for themselves, the adventures as they unfolded around them. I wanted to bring to life the adventures of a 10-year old boy who becomes lost in Yellowstone National Park… Continue

A Fresh Start in my Golden Years

A Fresh Start in my Golden Years Golden Years I am enjoying my Golden Years not because I deserve them, but because of God’s Grace I can fulfill my destiny that He so graciously has given me. I must apologize for not writing sooner. There are many new faces that have appeared on this network and I wish to welcome them. Although I have weathered the storm of colon cancer which I have written about in my second book and now have a battle with a progressive skin cancer, nothing floored me more t… Continue

You Are Never to Old to Start Something New

You Are Never to Old to Start Something New

By

Douglas J. Archambault

Starting another year and already in my so-called Golden Years I can not think of what I would be doing today if I never took up writing as an author and poet using my computer. When I retired I had little skills to work on a computer, I certainly was not an advanced user. I had nev

Golden Years?

Golden Years?

Human nature being what it is we have always been concerned about the years ahead. We would like to know what the future would bring. There is a fear of the future with the sickness or death of a loved one. We look in the mirror and see this face looking back at us, and say wow I am getting old. I am reminded in my later years of an incident when I was a store

Short Story

The Day Bruno came to my House

The last rays of sunlight were leaving our pine grove as the sun slowly rested behind the trees.

The pine grove was quiet and not a leaf was moving, not a whisper of a breeze did I feel as I slept the early evening away on our lawn swing.

I dreamed of long ago, in the old

May We Always Remember

May We Always Remember

May we always remember that day in September and never forget the thousands of innocent lives lost so needlessly six years ago, in the blackened smoke of that clear September morning when our nation was struck by assassins. For a moment our thoughts were turned upside down and our mighty Foundation did not seem so sound. The assassins failed to recog

an excerpt from The Darkness before the Dawn

I have a Scripture reading that comes to mind. Matthew Chapter 26, 35:41. I think of the medical profession when I read this especially the nurses.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you came to visit me”.

“Then th

The Pine Grove In The Spring

I would like to share with you another of my poems from my latest book.

THE PINE GROVE IN THE SPRING

Douglas J. Archambault

I remember the pine grove in the spring when nature comes to life.

Like resurrection time when nature awakens from her slumber to the warmth of spring.

I remember the flowers planted

The Hospital Room

I would like to share with everyone the poem that I wrote that inspired me to write The Darkness Before The Dawn. The anosmatic tube was mentioned because I went without food and the tube was inserted for 10 days. My colon would not wake up.

THE HOSPITAL ROOM

Douglas J. Archambault

I awoke from my hospital bed and gazed into the rays of the morning sun. I realized that the pain of the p
