About Me and My Book:
I was the mayor's wife in a mid-size predominately Black Southern California city for 12 years. After my husband passed, I ultimately wrote, The Mayor's Wife Wore Sapphires, an urban political thriller. I wanted to test my craft, rather than write a memoir. I went on to win the prestigious Cush City, "2007 Best New Author Award." I self-published and do my own marketing and help others do theirs.

I'm Learning More and More About Twitter!

The Twitter mania has a reason for being. That little sucker is
reacting to the melded passions of mankind. I just love to
think I can connect by only 140 words. That's like a getting
a bestseller after only one edit and 3 press releases. And
my followers, making me feel like a rock star, say, "Yes,
you really connected, dear."

using twitter, facebook, linkedin to sell tons of books

I spent weeks learning how to borrow social network's power.

First thing, you need to check out is my site that's strictly dedicated to selling tons of books. Between your website and our site, those should be your luxury homes. Now the first thing in the mornings, go to your own site and the book sales site and participate in one activity, or several to brand your name. Then, connect to twitter, and in 140 words, talk about what you just did on your site. Tell Twitter followers to meet you on… Continue

Hi Martha, Congrats on your award and success! Sharing your knowledge shows that you have a sweet human spirit! "The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their own." Benjamin Disraeli Blessings galore..... Marie

"It’s Crunch Time!”, This is a new children’s book by Marie Brewer (www.helenbrewer.com for the link to book) This is my book of muscle for boys (ages 9-12) to point them in the direction of HOPE!...This is an interactive book where they can write about their feelings. It discusses acceptable behavior, honesty, good self-image, respect for females and animals, appreciation for teachers/school, choosing good friends. The book also talks about resisting gangs, guns, drugs, violence, alcohol and bad influences. Let's attack the behavior, not the boy. "It's Crunch Time!" , by Marie Brewer, www.bbotw.com. Hi Martha, and congratulations on the book, it looks interesting. I'm Terry from Chicago, a first time self published author using this site to network, and find out what others are doing to get their work exposed. My book is Comlok, Eye of the keeper, and check out my web page for a brief description. I've sold over 2,000 copies to date. Hope things are going well with your efforts!

Hi Martha,

Congratulations on your novel, The Mayor's Wife Wore Sapphires and your "2007 Best New Author Award", what an awesome accomplishment! I just wanted to mention to you a website I built called AlreadyPublished.com. It's for authors to promote their book. You do so by posting your book's first chapter, giving readers a peek into your book. The site is free and the list of books is growing, so please check it out. :) BTW, good luck with your book!

p.s. You can also check out this blog post on the Already Published Ning Network, I explain how to post your book. You can also learn more about the website there.

Best,
John

By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
