Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

I'm semi retired, pick a client each year that I think I can help and instruct how to find capital. It's a big financing marketplace out there. There are thousands of want to be venturers and angels. It's a "caveat emptor" climate. A lot of shyster grant finders also. I do online consulting for SCORE at least 3 clients each nite. My books "Sleeper Cell" and the "Venture Capitalist" envolves VC, one project is the financing of New Orleans into a solar-powered city.
Much peace and many blessing be to you,
Carrie J. Keaton
Thanks. I chose AuthorHouse for a specific purpose after reviewing the vanities, PODs, etc. I saw the publishing industry merging and consolidating. Picked AH after watching the Iuniverse/Ah merger and saw some astituteness there. As a Venture Capitalist I learned quite a bit about marketing and financing all types of entities...TV, Radio, Communication cos, Newspapers, Publishing Companies, record distributors, movies, etc. Already on Lula's mailing list. Thanks, count me as a friend.
