I invite you to follow my blogs and comment, critique, and network with me as friends (so I can follow your work too).
I have found ning in general to be the best marketing and reference tool compared to any advertising, networking, or leads I have ever used -- free or paid for. And all it's costs is our time.
Many of you are already in my friend network, and thank you for sharing your work with me. For those of you reading, this that I have not introduced myself too, I would like to now, and ask we be friends so I can follow your craft as well.
We all need to support each others work through this economic distress, no stimulus or bail out is going to help us.
In my latest blog post, you will also see three other ning networks that I have created. One for children's book professionals/enthusiasts, one for southern/Tennessee writers, artists, etc., and one for WillowRaven clients (present, past, or future) or simply just fans of my work. I invite you to join the appropriate ones for you as well.

I choose Authorhouse. This is not a testimonial, but a reply. I watched them buy/merge with Iuniverse and I've hear recently they are buying Xlibris. This makes them the largest in the industry. There are some things like grassroots marketing that I wanted to do... and set up my distribution system B/4 I started promoting. Go to google: Ralph L. McNeal, Sr. - Sleeper cell. The publisher will send you a contract type menu for you to pick and choose which items you want to buy. I didn't want to store boxes in my garage nor sell out the trunk of my car. So I established a "timeline" of things and due dates and applied date where I wanted certain items to kick in.i.e., regional marketing, national/international marketing; purchase of a Marketing kit, book signing kit, standard PR package, LCC control No., bookstore presentation, etc. In my grassroots marketing I used Kinkos to make copies of my book cover front and back and media release on the inside in a greeting card type and mailed it to friends, acquaintenances, alumni associations and everyone I came in contact with. In addition, I purchase some personalized ball point pins engraved with "Sleeper Cell" by Ralph L. McNeal, Sr. I will start seeding my organizations with a copy to raffle of and send a free personalized copy to those that promised to do a review. If you'd like samples of my give aways, let me know.
Check out my latest blogs about the JGDS series I am illustrating!

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
