About Me and My Book:
I'm a single African American mother of four who enjoys penning the antics of my muse as it plays in the playground of my mind's parlor.

My writing, thanks to my crazed muse, does run a muck in the contemparary fiction. My debute book is The Brekleby Press, due out in February. Natalie and her fellow reporters travel thru time to record those three minutes of fame that can lead to the bigger picture.

In an forthcoming work, Ninomytus, a sacreficial lamb for the condemned clings to the hope of finally finding peace.

Left Hanging?

have my first book published by a small independent publisher. i knew what i was getting into when i signed on and really don't have any complaints. a couple of weeks ago i got a call from him asking if i was interested in becoming an independent contractor with the printer/distributor. he didn't go into it at that time and said he was call back later. i'm still waiting to hear back.

i have called and emailed him repeatedly with no response. (he is in the guard and was deployed once already so… Continue

Stepped Back for a Moment

I want to appologize to those people, both thru direct contact and behind the scenes who were helping me with promoting my book, THE BREKLEBY PRESS. I wasn't as prepared as I thought I was as well as having something things going on in my life which cause me to put things on hold. I am close to finishing up those things personally and hope to get going on the book again soon. I do want to thank all those who aided me and look forward working with you again. Once again I do appologize

It's just a little stumble.

This is turning out a little harder than I thought it would be. The virtual tour I mean.
I'm doing my reserch on finding sites to promote my book and coming up with a
few places that will either carry my book, The Brekleby Press, or place it on their page
(small feature) which is great. I'm not knocking that. Exposure is exposure.
But to have some hosts for the tour is another matter. Guess I missing the bigger
picture down the road.

Part of what I'm finding is from what I'm seeing on people's… Continue

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

I sure will! I'd like to feature more authors through my other websites - and I have about a dozen!

Hi, Deborah!
I had sent out invites to several authors I knew and my writer's club came up with the questions. I'll gladly include you in the next one if you like! (Answers have already been posted for this one.) I am also developing a list of questions so that I may feature an author or two every week on my blog ... and a couple other of my dozen or so websites!

Hi Deborah,

Are you organizing your tour yourself? I wouldn't have had a clue how to do that. Instead I signed on with PumpUpYourBook Promotions. Dorothy Thompson, whose company it is, and her other tour coordinators worked unbelievably hard to line up about 18 or 19 stops for me, some interviews, some guest posts, some reviews. I'm more than half way through, and so far I'm very pleased. I won't know for a while how many, if any, extra books I've sold, but at least the novel is out there, being talked about. And so far very positively. That's got to help.

Good luck wth your tour.Delete Comment
