Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

About Me and My Book:
North Of Here is a labor of love inspired by the goings-on in small town New Hampshire. There always seemed to me things happening behind the picturesque beauty of the place, and indeed every so often you'd hear things. I baked all of these experiences into a contemplative thriller, which I am aiming to self-publish this year.

Dryline Rhapsody is my postcard to California. "Inspired" by a rather difficult breakup, I turned to my trusted laptop and began writing one day. The output was quick and concise (I finished the novel in a total of nine months) and have since gone back to tweak parts of it. Currently, it's making the rounds at publishers (at least this is what my over-extended agent tells me). Meanwhile, I continue of other projects--screenplays, stage plays, novels, etc. Keep on keepin' on, man!

Spring

Working on a new project right now, set in my native NH. Gothic kind of thing; actually, more a post-post-Gothic kind of thing. Meanwhile, the California spring inspires; the poppies are about to bloom, and if you haven't been the California Poppy Reserve in the Antelope Valley, you've never walked in a dream!

Peace.

The article outlines how search engines are rewiring our brains and indeed could be making some of us less inclined to comprehend deep, long passages of writing. Interesting stuff. You can read it here.

In other news, just finished a one-act and have hooked up with a couple of playwriting groups in th… Continue
