About Me and My Book:
My name is Tabias Clements and I grew up in the projects(lower income housing) of Atlanta. My book "So Many Tears/Broken" was written as a form of therapy for me to deal with my pain.
Many children grow up in drug infested neighborhoods and some have parents that are addicted to drugs. These children are forced to grow up fast in order to survive in their environment. Most of them fall victim to their induced lifestyles and live a lifestyle similar to that of their parents. Shawn grew in the projects of Bankhead, Georgia and his mother got addicted to crack when he was ten years old. Shawn watched his mother slowly deteriorate over time and he did everything within his power to try to make her
stop. He learned that this addiction was stronger than her and she got deeper involved over time. This book gives you a look from Shawn’s eyes into this dark world many of you know about from a distance, but you will learn things about this world only one who has lived it knows. Shawn will take you on a journey with an innocent child who knew
nothing about drugs to a child who lived in a freebase house and became one of those young drug dealers you fear so much.
This book does not only give you a vivid picture of Shawn’s childhood, but you also get to view this story through the eyes of his mother. She talks about her life from childhood all the way up to the present. There are events in her life as a poor country child and her ignorant innocence as a teenager that led to her eventually using drugs. Life on the street has never been described so vividly before these tell all stories. The reader will learn all aspects of a junkie’s (drug addict) life on the streets. Life on the streets for a junkie curtails burglary, prostitution, theft, begging, murder and Shawn’s mother was even an informant the Red Dogs (A Drug Enforcement Agency in Bankhead). She was paid to purchase drugs for the Red Dogs, so they could bust Drug dealers. The most interesting part about this book is how her life’s story correlates to Shawn’s story. These are fictional stories and characters based on the real life experiences and tragedies of lifestyles that involved drugs, fast money, and life in the streets. The characters in this book are not based on any real people in any fashion or form.

By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
