About Me and My Book:
I am the author of two books that may be of interest to this group: "The Author's Guide to Building an Online Platform: Leveraging the Internet to Sell More Books" (Quill Driver Books, June 08) and "From Entrepreneur to Infopreneur: Make Money with Books, eBooks and Information Products" (John Wiley & Sons, Dec. 06).

I kissed off corporate America in 2003 to pursue my business and writing goals and I am having the time of my life! My passions include all-things-small-business, marketing and publishing. Life is good and it is a pleasure to network with others who are living their dreams.

I am also the founder and CEO of Authority Publishing. We are a custom publisher specializing in business, self-help and non-fiction books.

Call for Submissions

I just finalized a contract with the publisher for my next book about business growth, due out in fall 2009. As with my previous books, the new book will include interviews with those who have achieved success. I am looking for compelling stories about business growth - those who overcame challenges, have a unique story to tell and who have crossed over into a bigger level of business success. If this sounds like you, please send me an e-mailContinue

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The blessings we ask for this season
Aren't the kind that come wrapped with a bow;
We're asking for gifts from the heart,
Ones we need and never outgrow.
May we see in these bright decorations
With their colors and lights all aglow,
The beauty and wonder of life
That God's world was created to show.
Let the peace and goodwill of this season
Be feelings that we can extend
Far into the following year
To our neighbors, our family, and friends.
Most of all, may we always remember
To open our hearts every day and share all the love and the joy
In a special and meaningful way.

Aloha from Kauai!

I will be in the Sacramento River Delta - my hometown area - on October 10th for a book signing of River Bones at the Rio Vista library. 2:00 till 4:00. I'll give a short presentation and they will serve refreshments afterwards. I'm sending over some Hawaiian nibbles for that too.

Cheers,
Mary
