About Me and My Book:

Michael Saunders was born and grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. His Father was
Cherokee and Ottawa Indian and his Mother was Irish and German.
He grew up spending most of his summers with his Indian grandparents and remembers fondly
listening to his Grandmother telling stories.
He married shortly after graduating high school and worked at a variety of different jobs, from a
power company employee to a truck driver to retail sales. After ten years he moved his family to
Grand Forks, North Dakota where he attended the University of North Dakota. He graduated with
honors with a BA in American Indian Studies and a minor in Anthropology. He later taught American
Indian Studies at the University for four years.
Michael had short stories published in The Copperfield Review, Wild Child, Underground Voices,
The Southern Reader, The Bygone Days and Author Spot websites.
Michael has lived and worked on American Indian Reservation in Minnesota, North and South
Dakota and New Mexico. He currently lives in Saint Louis, MO. with his daughter, Magen and her
husband Andy and his grand-daughter Janice.

My novel, Ghosthunter is a Native American supernatural western, set in the 1880s.

Writing

More than one person, including my publisher, told me I needed to do more to market my book. I saw this site on a web search and thought, 'what better network to join'. I hope to learn a few things here and to connect with authors and publishers.
