- About Me and My Book:
- I'm an author of now five books. Journeys of A Soul (poetry that whispers seduction, captures time, reveals addiction, photgraphs nature and sings romance.) Love Laws, A Young adult novel which brings out the relationship of eight seniors whos' lives are twirled into romantic drama as they discover things about each other that brings them closer or tears them apart.} I have two children books, The Story Box A Collection of Adventures taking any child on a six short story adventure with animals, magic, mystery and big days! Hugs and kisses, which is a book to be used as a "tool' to speak to children about sexual abuse. It contain after each chapter a question quiz that can be used to help children know where and how to stand against sexual abuse. I have also a book Echoes of an Era, which is my first book of poetry voicing inspiration, love, the bonding of mother daughter and sibling. marysbookplace is my website and is very unique. A jazz lounge setting where I hope many will enjoy their time spent as they "hear" poems from my books as well as read about the many services offered to readers and writers about writing, publishing etc. Being a staff writer of Poetic Monthly, an online E-zine and now published Magazine I have had the opportunity to share a lot with readers in poetry and stories as well as services many of the readers,authors and sponsors offer. Thank you for your motivation. As a matter of fact, the dolls came first and then the idea for the books. The first dolls were magical and would appear on the pages of an old story teller, but the stories were about Harriet Tubman and George Washington Carver, among others back in the day. Because I wanted to make the stories more current, I created the world of Oodleville in order to give the dolls an environment of imagination and adventure for children. Now the dolls have developed a mission within their personalities not only to entertain, but to teach. I am amazed myself at the way this life's mission is being revealed to me a little at a time. I found the questions you asked Shelagh on the Forever Friends blog tour very interesting, and her answers informative--things we hadn't known.
Women have been coming to me who have either been abused by clergy or have a loved one abused by clergy, and I've been working with them and aiding them with what I've learned through writing my book, "Innocence Betrayed."
Writing a light-hearted story in "Forever Friends" was a nice change.
You've been pretty busy yourself! Congratulations on your many successes!
