- About Me and My Book:
- Marsha Hansen is the author of My Soul is A Witness: The Message of the Spirituals in Word and Song. The companion CD included with the book is noted for the original arrangements featuring Keith Richards, Blondie Chaplin, George Receli, Babi Floyd and other spectacular performers. Hansen is also the author of Finding God in the Shadows: Stories from the Battlefield of Life. It was co-written with Peter Huchthausen, author of K-19 the Widowmaker and Hostile Waters, and published by Augsburg-Fortress. Both books have been praised in international media.
Marsha Hansen has joined others in recently launching Hansen-McMenamy Books, LLC. It is a small traditional Christian publishing company with big goals. Submission guidelines are available at www.hansenmcmenamybooks.com. Initially, the company is publishing 10 titles per year, but there are plans to expand. The staff responds to all queries. The company is fortunate in the authors already signed. Hansen-McMenamy offers standard written contracts, and there are no costs to authors whatsoever. In fact, our authors benefit from our marketing strategies.
Marsha Hansen says: My success to date is directly linked to the generosity of others, so even though I have a busy schedule, I am happy to exchange ideas with writers who e-mail me. One of my favorite encounters was with the highly successful Alexander McCall-Smith, a man as lovely as his books. He has a well-designed website that I think almost any writer can benefit from visiting. My advice to anyone serious about writing is this: Study every aspect of the business of writing, build a personal platform, and network, network, network...but always in a respectful manner.
