About Me and My Book:
I sign my books with my pen name 'ILIA'.

I'm working on a series of original modern day fairy tales that are enjoyed by young and old alike. Four are published now: The Handiwork Clash, The Bouncing Boy, A Christmas Fairy Tale, and Ti Ana and The Giant.

The next book, Bing Singer will be published by October 09. More books for the series are in the works - anywhere from editing stage to idea stage.

The original fairy tales were folk tales created by women and passed down orally from one generation to the next. The tales were told while doing tedious tasks such as spinning yarn. The tales told were of great imagination, inventive, original and fantastical. The fairy tales did not always have a happy ending. Sometimes old fairy tales by women weren't always pleasant, hardships and other unpleasantries were spoken of.

In a time period of political censorship, when women had very few rights, fairy tales were one way that they could make their opinions known. Women spoke about being abused, using their wits to work out situations and of the time period. It was from this early beginning that true fairy tales were actually allegories - which means to speak so as to imply something other.

My fairy tales are original allegory style fairy tales that speak about modern day events.

At the same time I'm also working on a series of fantasy novels. The series is "Ladies of the Orb." The domain has been secured. The first two novels are being worked on - the first one is about Kya and Keyan, in the second one I don't have the lady named yet.

I am an avid Sci-Fi/Fantasy book reader and have never seen the subjects that I'm working on in the Ladies of the Orb in any of the hundreds of books that I have read.

As a hint, I have had to do research about an ancient civilization here on earth. Stay tuned for more hints and sneak peeks of the fairy tales and the fantasy novels. 8)
