Clips from Contributing Interviews with Derek Armstrong:
"The new book Drew Peterson Exposed, about the former Bolingbrook police officer and his dead third wife and missing fourth wife, is billed as a 300-page news story. And it does have some news." —Chicago Sun-Times
"Derek should be commended for staging [the lie detector test] under neutral circumstances. It was a fair test . . . I agree with everything." —Geraldo Rivera on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet (FOX)
"Drew Peterson says a new book about him—due out this week—looks too much at the negative side of things." —WBBM Chicago (CBS)

"In May, Drew Peterson took a lie detector test at the request of author Derek Armstrong. SYNOPSIS
In The Game, a killer plays a high-stakes game on the set of a live-broadcast reality television show where guests are trapped for six months in a “haunted” mansion. Thousands of miles away, a psychopath is executed by lethal injection in California–and dies with a secret that could save many lives. Only a comical detective who fears nothing--except his teenage daughters--can hope to understand what links these two seemingly unrelated crimes, without ever losing his zest for the game or his sense of humor.
The spree could be the work of a separatist group in Vermont who seek independence from the United States; or ruthless reality television producers juicing ratings on their hit show; perhaps the killers are vengeance-seeking parents; or are they underworld enforcers? In the world of The Game, the actual killer might be the least dangerous of all.
Don't miss the zany, thrilling world of The Game.

My third book, THE LAST TROUBADOUR, releases Fall 07 to strong advance reviews and quotes from two best selling authors.
LOGLINE
Against the flames of a rising medieval Inquisition—a heretic, an atheist and a pagan are the last hope to save the Holiest Christian relic from a sainted King and crusading pope—based on true events.
SYNOPSIS
Armstrong brings his "genre-bending" skills to the thirteenth century, quilling a laugh-out-loud historical thriller that is at once genuine, amusing, tragic and exciting. The last living troubadour, condemned by the church as a heretic, must rescue the Holiest Christian relic from a crusading Sainted King and "flaming" Pope Innocence. With him are a disgraced Templar and a luscious Temptress. Together, the Troubadour, the Templar and the Temptress—a heretic, athiest and pagan—are the last hope to save the Holy of Holies from powerful men who would exploit it to provoke a new crusade to Jerusalem.
Armstrong somehow retains his trademark "prose style that keeps us chuckling" (Booklist) while pointing his satirical wit at a Church that believes the answer to faith is to burn any who do not believe. With larger-than-life characters that manage not to become caricatures, Armstrong sets his heroes against the Diableteur, a witch hunter who resembles the archetypal "Death and his sickle", a lecherous archbishop who believes the relic can make him the next Pope, and a Pope who knows the true nature of the relic will destroy the Church. With Ramon Troubadour and his Templar/Temptress duo are an eclectic cast of characters—the one-eyed "black" knight who falls in love with the virgin Holy Lady, a Novgorodian wandering sorceress, and famous rebels, Doré the Dandy and Osric the Hammer. Oh, not to forget little Mauri, a "rat-like" mongrel of a dog who often "saves the day", and Izzy and Wizi, two "nearly human" horses.
If you enjoy your thrills and history—crusading knights, romantic-but-funny troubadours, fighting damsels, evil archbishops and roasting "heretics" on the pyre—mixed with a generous dollop of humor, large dashes of historical tragedy, and a big splash of satire, you'll adore The Last Troubadour, a genre-bend if there ever was one.

By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
