Biographies
Kevin is an advocate for peace. Diagnosed with Still’s Disease at the age of six, the doctors advised he would be in a wheelchair by the age of 20. Advised against playing competitive sports his leisure-time activities involve various aspects of forest recreation backpacking, canoeing, and rock climbing. His other passion is writing.
For more than 20 years, he worked construction and maintenance. During that time, a near death experience inspired a change in careers. Soon after, he returned to college. He credits God with overcoming the challenges in life, and hopes to pass a portion of what God has provided on to others.
For nearly a decade, he has averaged over 700 hours of volunteer service annually. In 2005, he received a BA in Public Relations Journalism. In 2009, he received a certificate of completion in conflict analysis, from the US Institute for Peace, and an MS in Resource Interpretation. His work on the university campus has received awards from the Southwest Association of College and University Residence Halls. Kevin’s message of peace, Arcs of Light, has received honors from Cowboy Logic Press and was dramatized at Israel’s Cinematheque theatre during the 2009 Peace Stories Festival.
What others have to say about Arcs of Light:
“…[an] inspiring story…” 2007 Nobel Prize Nominee, Ada Aharoni, Ph.D. Lit.
“This tale is amazing…I hope we see much more of it.” - Roger Haller, Cowboy Logic Press
This year, Kevin is involved in supporting peace activities in four countries, on three continents. The bulk of this work lies in assisting a small international ministry with a public relations campaign. iMobilize4Him Ministries supports missionaries in Uganda and Mexico, and will soon be supporting a missionary in Peru. The first effort is to raise funds for Rev. Roxanne Hollingsworth to deliver supplies to a Christian orphanage in Reynosa, Mexico, in December 2009. In addition, iMobilize4Him provides financial assistance to support Dr. Linda Marcel in her efforts to train Ugandan pastors in trauma counseling. Future efforts under consideration include, supporting research on peace based initiatives in Uganda.
