- I live near Elmira, NY, which is the setting of my Civil War novel. Elmira hosted a deadly prison of war camp, theorized as a retaliation for the atrocities of Andersonville. My novel features twins, Devon and Duncan Sharpe, who choose opposing loyalties in the war. Elmira becomes the unlikely scene of their reunion and restoration.
