About Me and My Book:
Written by western storyteller JRPrimm, "The Empty Shotgun" is the classic tale of a young man's exciting journey from his childhood home in the mountains of Virginia across the country and into Colorado in pursuit of a gang of notorious outlaws that had killed his Father and his best friend, and abducted his younger sister.

J.R.Primm resides in rural Tennessee and enjoys writing, boating and fishing. At age 58, he has explored the USA from sea to shining sea many times. Joe has spent much of his life as a mechanic, but has also worked as a long haul trucker, a bridge builder, a construction crane operator, a welder, and even a cowboy in his younger days growing up in a small rural town in southern Florida.

An avid reader, "Joe" as he prefers to be called, has found much of his inspiration for his western adventures in the writings of such great Authors as J.D.Hardin, Zane Grey, Frank Bonham and of course, the incomparable Louis Lamour.

The Timeless West

The memories of another time are often stirred like campfires in the night,
bursting with color that floats off into the darkness only to disappear.

These memories are eternal, and elusive by design, but are often resurrected
from their hideouts through the words of a western writer spinning his tales.

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
