My Poetry
A Voice For Those Without One
Men, Women ,and Children
Walk the streets aimlessly
Spat upon , mocked ,abused
Beaten, and raped
Treated with malice and contempt
Seeking refuge and mercy
Victimized by the hardhearted
Card board boxes and steam vents
A makeshift home
Desperate ,lost ,helpless ,
Frightened and alone
Who are they ?
Are they not our
Brothers ,sisters, and children?
Mental illness,foster children,
Veterans, and runaways
Addictions and afflictions
Victims of fire ,poverty, unemployment,
Societies castoffs
Circumstances beyond
Their control
Inside these battered
Living Human Beings
Lies a soul
Our countries black eye
Fractured hearts
Broken spirits
Shunned and forgotten
Men,women,and children
Belongings dragged behind
Are we not?
Also prey?
Two or three loss of pay checks?
With this Country's wealth
There is no justification
Merely, lack of humanity
Dumpsters provide
Food to eat
Hope has flown away
Sore aching feet
Seeking a divine intervention
From fellow man
Are they not Human?
Where is the compassion
And empathy for fellow our man?
Shelters unfit
And filled with crime
Their only escape
From the streets and grime
Devastation
No, longer any tears to cry
Hour to hour
Minute to minute survival
Within a concrete war zone
Of peers
Endless heartache
And fears
As, I sit here
In a warm loving home
My heart aches
And tears flow
I pray someone out there
Knows I care
My promise to you
Is ,I will always be fair
May Angels protect you
And keep you safe
When I greet you
I will place money
In your hand
Smile and
Treat you with respect
As ,I walk away
I will cry glass tears
And you will remain
In my daily thoughts and prayers
Cause, I know
There but fore the grace of GOD go I

Secret Garden
Over an emerald mountain
Lies a trickling
Natural spring fountain
Encased in fragrant shade trees
Upon ,an endless field
Of rainbow poppies
I discovered
A breathtaking paradise
Where wildlife sing psalms
A rippling stream calms
Soft earth
Green grass surround
Simple pleasures abound
Where nature and mankind reside
In a precise climate outside
All, fear and harm
Are given a pardon
In the secret garden
Filled with endless Love
Bestowed from above

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
