About Me and My Book:
I love to write and wrote "The Perfect Son", a murder mystery, while I was visiting family in East Africa. I was there for 3 months and was so inspired I wrote every day. I had never envisioned myself writing a murder mystery but you have to write what is given to you. I am on the final edit and hope that it will be in print within the next few months.
My second book (which I actually wrote before the first) is a self help program. I wrote it and presented for a short time but then shelved it because I wasn't reaching the right audience and didn't feel it was the right time. I am now ready to dust it off and get it back out and get it published.

Money

I make a little they take a little. At this rate I am assured of always making just enough to stay in a perpetual state of potential millionaire once removed.

Scribblers’ Retreat is a non-profit organization established with the goal of reaching writers of all ages; to inspire and promote their hidden gifts and talents.
By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.

Jennie,

Thanks for the message. I noticed that you live in Canton, Ohio. I am looking for potential publishers for my second book that is about growing up in Small Town (Bucyrus, Ohio) America and was wondering if you would recommend some companies that might be interested in my memoir. Good luck with your novel.

Hi Jenny: Thanks for sending me a message. I was born and raised (or not raised-hehe) there. It is a nice city but, as in Austin, gets too hot in June, July and August. If I could find a cooler place during those three months, I would. How is the weather in Canton?
Write me back and tell me about your writing.

Respectfully

John

Hi Jenny!

I'm a fellow Ohioan, currently residing in Elyria, OH. Your trip to East Africa sounds inspiring. Going on a writing retreat is one of my big goals for 2009.

Great to meet you. Much success!

I've had several others tell me you're never too old to get published. Your mom should go ahead and get things started because I, too, believe you're never too old.
